🌍 How to Join the Dragon Fruit Association of Africa International (D-A-F-S-A)

Dragon Fruit South Africa, Healthy Fields, Wonderful Dragon Fruit, and the Dragon Fruit Association of Africa International (D-A-F-S-A) invite you to become part of the fastest-growing dragon fruit movement on the African continent.

Becoming a member means gaining access to vital industry knowledge, international markets, marketing tools, and expert guidance β€” everything a successful dragon fruit farmer needs.

βœ… Membership Through Plant Material Purchase

To become a member of D-A-F-S-A, you must purchase plant material directly from the Dragon Fruit Association or its partners.

This is crucial because there are over 100 dragon fruit cultivars worldwide, many of which are unstable or not true to type when grown from seed.
We only supply plant material from mature, fruit-bearing trees that exhibit strong genetic characteristics and predictable fruit quality.

Seeds are not reliable, as dragon fruit plants are easily cross-pollinated by various cactus flowers, making seed-grown plants genetically unpredictable. When you purchase cuttings from mature plants, you’re planting a 100% genetic replica of the parent, ensuring quality, productivity, and cultivar purity.

πŸ‡ Our Core Cultivars

We specialize in export-grade, self-pollinating cultivars that thrive across Africa and in international climates:

  • Ruby Hybrid – Our proprietary cultivar developed over 17 years.
Deep purple flesh, very sweet, high immunity, can grow from -3Β°C to 47Β°C, fruits up to 1 kg.
  • Israel Gold – Self-pollinating, golden-yellow skin, extremely sweet, fruit up to 1.1 kg.
Adapts well to various climates and requires no hand-pollination.
  • Purple Haze – Famous U.S. Paul Thompson cultivar with vibrant purple flesh and stunning appearance.
  • Zamorana – Known for blood-red flesh, high heat resistance, and commonly used in juices and food coloring.
